The Gift of Time: A Miraculous Journey Back to Life

Introduction:
On December 15, 2019, what started as a routine Sunday breakfast turned into a life-altering experience for Jon and me. Little did we know that the day would unfold into a story of survival, faith, and the miraculous gift of time.
The Normal Sunday Turned Extraordinary:
Our usual Sunday routine included breakfast with our granddaughter, Charlotte. On this particular day, a sense of urgency prompted me to cut short Charlotte’s visit, leading to a decision that would alter the course of our lives. As we reached our daughter’s apartment, the unforeseen unfolded.
The Unthinkable Moment:
In a matter of seconds, Jon collapsed, lifeless. Panic set in as I initiated CPR alongside our daughter’s boyfriend, Shawn, who happened to be trained in CPR. The seconds felt like an eternity as we fought to revive Jon. It was a heart-wrenching moment, made even more challenging as our granddaughter questioned if her Papa would be okay.
A Miracle Unfolds:
The Paramedics arrived, and for over 80 minutes, Jon, our family, and the medical team engaged in a battle for his life. Miraculously, at 9:35 AM, on December 15, 2019, as I prayed “God, breathe life back into my husband, in Jesus’ name,” and laid hands on Jon’s chest, I felt a surge of divine intervention as God breathed life back into Jon. Against all odds, Jon’s heart remained undamaged, a testament to the extraordinary events that transpired.
Divine Intervention and the Power of Prayer:
In the midst of chaos, prayers echoed in the hospital room. With stents placed in Jon’s heart and arteries over 90% blocked, the medical team marveled at the lack of damage. This was a divine intervention, a reaffirmation that miracles still exist, and the power of prayer is undeniable.
Challenges and Gratitude:
Jon’s recovery astounded everyone. Despite the intense CPR, he suffered no broken bones, brain function loss, or other impairments. The gratitude we felt surrounded by loved ones in the hospital waiting room was overwhelming.
Reflecting on the Experience:
As I headed home that night, a mixture of fear and renewed faith gripped me. The fragility of life and the reality of death became more tangible. I grappled with conflicting emotions, having witnessed death and rebirth within a span of hours.
Life Lessons and Takeaways:
- God is love, and we, being made in God’s image, are vessels of love. To invite more love into our lives, we must embody and share love with others.
- Words hold immense power; they can speak life or death into situations. Choose to speak life, as words shape our realities.
- Miracles persist in our lives, a testament to the unchanging nature of God.
- CPR knowledge is invaluable. Learn it, as it can save lives when every second counts.
- Cherish your body, the temple bestowed by God. It enables our spirits to fulfill their earthly purposes.
- Embrace stillness, practice gratitude, and live unapologetically in alignment with your divine purpose.
- Love one another and extend compassion, understanding that each person is doing their best with the resources at hand.

Darkness Descends As a child, I navigated a world shrouded in trauma, abuse, and neglect. The angry presence of my father and the aloofness of my mother cast shadows over my innocence. Yet, amidst the darkness, my brothers became beacons of light, shielding me with love and care. A Devil’s Deception The entry of Dave, my mother’s new husband, marked a sinister turn in my life. The once innocent skip in my step turned into a dance with the devil. Unveiling a tale of secrecy and manipulation, this chapter explores the harrowing experiences that became my reality. The Courage to Speak A pivotal moment arrived when, armed with a counselor’s guidance, I dared to defy Dave’s tyranny. The courage to say “No” and seek help unleashed a miraculous intervention that banished him from our lives. The resilience of a child, fueled by divine protection, marked the beginning of my journey to healing. The Pain and Suffering of Unhealed Childhood Trauma I also did not receive the help I needed to recover from this trauma. My life took a downward spiral. By the time I was 14 years old, I was addicted to Crystal Meth, affiliated with a gang, and participating in criminal activity. At 15 I found myself pregnant. I had my daughter and then just a few years later my son. We navigated life the best we could with Divine intervention and miracles along the way, we were able to find our way. A Journey to Alaska Guided by faith, I moved to Alaska, seeking solace and connection with family. Little did I know that this move would set the stage for unexpected love and a supportive community that would shape my future. Love in the Arctic Sky Amidst the Northern Lights’ celestial dance, I met Jon Majors. Love blossomed against the backdrop of the Arctic sky, and we embarked on a journey that would redefine family, commitment, and the pursuit of happiness. A Mother’s Sacrifice Challenging twists followed, including the heart-wrenching loss of pregnancies. Faced with health risks, I made sacrifices for my own well-being and underwent a radical hysterectomy, and the inability to ever have a baby with Jon. The Path to Healing Divine Intervention once again prevailed and I found myself part of a process through Inspired Leadership Academy which became a transformative beacon, illuminating the path to self-discovery and healing. As I uncovered the layers of childhood trauma, my family and I embarked on a collective journey toward understanding, forgiveness, and restoration. A Career of Purpose Embracing the call to assist others, I delved into real estate and life coaching. Establishing Majors Realty Group and Dream Big Alaska, I discovered purpose in helping others navigate their journeys, just as I have navigated mine. Love Beyond Death A heart-stopping event on December 15, 2019, brought our family to the brink of loss. Miraculously, Jon’s recovery ignited a renewed appreciation for the preciousness of life, reaffirming the power of love that had guided us through every trial, and increasing our faith to know that miracles and God are real. In our modern society, it’s all too easy to fall into the trap of numbing ourselves to avoid discomfort and pain. Whether it’s through addictive behaviors like substance abuse, excessive screen time, overeating, or seeking constant validation on social media, numbing acts as a temporary escape from the challenges and uncertainties of life. However, while numbing may provide temporary relief, it ultimately hinders our growth and prevents us from experiencing true healing and fulfillment. Numbing behaviors often function as distractions, keeping us stuck in cycles of avoidance and denial. Instead of facing our emotions and confronting the root causes of our pain, we bury them beneath layers of temporary pleasure and distraction. However, by numbing ourselves, we only prolong our suffering and delay the process of true healing. It’s important to recognize that growth and healing require us to step out of our comfort zones and confront our fears and insecurities head-on. As Abraham Maslow famously said, “In any given moment, we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety.” When we choose numbing behaviors, we are essentially stepping back into safety, perpetuating a cycle of stagnation and complacency. When we find ourselves in pain, whether it be emotional, physical, or psychological, our natural instinct is to seek comfort and relief. However, true healing requires us to embrace discomfort and uncertainty, to lean into our pain rather than run from it. It’s only by facing our pain with courage and resilience that we can truly heal and grow. Numbing behaviors not only prevent us from experiencing growth and healing but also trap us in a victim mindset. When we succumb to numbing, we relinquish our power and agency, allowing ourselves to be controlled by our impulses and addictions. Instead of taking responsibility for our lives and choices, we become passive bystanders, trapped in a cycle of self-destructive behavior. Finding balance in self-care means recognizing the difference between nurturing practices that promote growth and well-being and numbing behaviors that perpetuate avoidance and stagnation. True self-care involves practices that nourish our minds, bodies, and souls, allowing us to cultivate resilience, self-awareness, and inner peace. So, let us strive to break free from the cycle of numbing and embrace a more holistic approach to self-care. Let us choose growth over comfort, courage over complacency, and vulnerability over avoidance. In doing so, we open ourselves up to the possibility of true healing, transformation, and fulfillment.
